Through a partnership with FEMA and Aidmatrix, GEMA has made available an online donations management portal.
The Georgia donations portal serves as the state’s central clearinghouse for corporations and organizations to donate much needed money, equipment, and goods, to the hundreds of thousands of Georgians who are recovering and preparing to rebuild from the devastation of natural disasters that affect the state. As specific needs are identified, they will be posted.
You can make a cash donation to a disaster response organization. Financial contributions allow relief organizations to purchase the exact items that are needed to quickly assist in response and recovery efforts. Funds also provide direct victim assistance. The disaster relief organizations can be found through the GEMA webpage www.gema.ga.gov

The local SHRM chapter has partnered with the Young Dawgs UGA program to provide a Workshop on July 16, 2009, for 75 high school students that are currently working in an internship with UGA.
The workshop will focus on skills used in a workplace. This is the first summer to be actively involved with our community by providing training related to the statewide initiative of "Workforce Readiness."
I want to let everyone know that Patrick Phelps and Steve Parks passed their PHR and SPHR exams respectively!
We are very proud of their accomplishments.
Patrick is a true professional and now has the certification to prove what we have known all along!
Steve is our Membership Chair this year and has been working hard to reach the SPHR level. Kudos to Steve for striving to reach the next level!
